As you prepare finalize your addendum, keep in mind the following:
Reporting and analysis of assessments:
Word lists: Compare and summarize the results of Fall and Spring performance on the list. Report the Independent, instructional, and frustration levels. Has there been any improvement? How does the student’s performance on the word lists compare with his/her ability to read the same list words in the passages?
Passages:
Oral reading of passages: Compare and summarize the results (Fall and Spring). Independent, instructional, and frustration levels. Compare them for the two semesters. Has there been any improvement?
Silent reading of passages: Compare and summarize the results (Fall and Spring). What are the Independent, instructional, and frustration levels. Compare them for the two semesters. Has there been any improvement?
Listening comprehension: Compare and summarize the results (Fall and Spring). What are the Independent, instructional, and frustration levels. Compare them for the two semesters. Has there been any improvement? What does the student’s listening comprehension tell you about his comprehension of text listened to as compared to text that he/she has read?
Miscue analysis: What do the student’s miscues tell you about his/her reading?
Writing: Summarize the student’s improvement in writing (both in content and mechanics such as grammar, spelling)
Overall analysis:
Summarize the student’s improvement in reading and writing (or lack thereof) based on all the above.
Important – check your report for grammar, syntax, spelling: Do not submit unless these have been rigorously checked.
